Jasper County Name Case Search
Jasper County does not publish one countywide name-search box. First identify the court from the caption, notice, citation, or filing. District civil, family, juvenile, and felony matters belong with the Jasper County District Clerk. County Court and probate questions begin with the County Clerk. A justice case goes to the proper office in the official JP directory. City citations stay with the issuing municipal court.
Texas also offers re:SearchTX for supported public case records. Its participation and document depth vary. A Jasper County case search by name should use exact spelling first, then a broader spelling if the result is empty. Compare court location and case type before treating a similar name as the correct matter.
- Read the court name on the case paper or citation.
- Try the responsible local clerk or re:SearchTX for supported cases.
- Enter the party name and narrow by court, category, or filed date when those controls appear.
- Confirm the case number, location, and caption before opening the event record.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Party name | Text | Portal dependent | Use the spelling shown on the caption. |
| Case number | Text | Portal dependent | The most precise identifier when known. |
| Location or court | Filter | No | Separates participating courts. |
| Filed date | Date | No | Helps distinguish similar names. |
Jasper County Has Split Searches
The Jasper County court system has two district courts, a constitutional County Court, six JP courts, and municipal courts. Each clerk controls the cases filed in that court. That division explains why a valid case may fail to appear in the first system checked. It also makes the court label on a notice more useful than a broad county name search.
The strongest verified public citation search is the Jasper Municipal Court citation route. It asks for a citation number beginning with M and a date of birth in MM/DD/YYYY form. That is a required-field lookup, not a public name index. JP and county cases require the relevant clerk route instead.
Key point: An empty result can mean the wrong court or incomplete portal coverage. It does not prove that no Jasper County case exists.
Jasper County Case Number Search
A cause number is the best local key because the Jasper County District Clerk copy form has a dedicated Cause # field. The research did not establish one universal Jasper County number pattern, so preserve the exact letters, numbers, punctuation, and leading zeroes printed by the court. Do not force a district cause number into the municipal citation screen.
For a Jasper city ticket, the verified public format is an M-prefixed citation, represented here only as M########. The same form also needs the cited person’s date of birth. For district or county matters, give the clerk the cause number and party names. Supplying no cause number may add a research charge when copies are requested.
Jasper County Search Costs
The District Clerk’s request form states a $5 research fee when no cause number is supplied. That charge is separate from copy and certification costs. It rewards careful case identification before a record request. Search old notices, filed papers, and the caption for the number first.
For documents available through re:SearchTX, the Texas Supreme Court fee order states $0.10 per page with a $1 minimum per document and a 30-day download window. Portal costs do not replace a local clerk’s fees. Confirm the current charge at the point of purchase.
Jasper County Case Search Results
The official re:SearchTX viewing example shows the field model used for participating cases. It can include case number, location, category or type, filed date, parties, attorneys, and event rows. An event row may identify a date, event, comments, document, page count, price, and status. This is a state portal model, not proof that every Jasper County record exposes every field.
| Case number | The court’s unique cause or case identifier. |
|---|---|
| Location | The court or county tied to the result. |
| Category | The civil, family, probate, or other case grouping. |
| Filed date | The date the clerk opened the matter. |
| Events | Filings, settings, orders, and other chronological entries. |
Jasper County Filing Is Separate
eFileTexas sends filings to Texas courts through certified service providers. It is not a public docket viewer. Jasper County began accepting district e-filings in 2014, required civil e-filing in 2016, and required later filings in pending criminal cases in 2019. Those dates describe how papers reach the clerk, not when a public search result appears.
The Jasper County e-filing page explains local acceptance and notice. A filer should use that channel for submission and a clerk or public access system for viewing. If a recent filing is absent online, confirm acceptance with the filing service and then ask the proper clerk whether it has entered the case record.
Statewide vs Jasper Case Search
re:SearchTX is the statewide layer for supported public case records and documents. Texas does not have one search that covers every trial court. Local Jasper County clerks remain the authority for their own files. The city citation portal is narrower still because it serves Jasper Municipal Court citations rather than district or JP dockets.
| Statewide Portal | Jasper County Clerk Routes |
|---|---|
| Participating Texas courts | Files kept by the responsible Jasper County clerk |
| Useful for supported civil and family coverage | Best for a known court and cause number |
| May offer paid document access | Can supply plain or certified copies |
Jasper County Portal Boundaries
The County Clerk links CountyGovernmentRecords for official public records such as deeds and instruments. That database is not a court docket search. Likewise, the County Clerk’s notice ending clerk-provided criminal searches directs people to Texas DPS for criminal history. DPS is not a substitute for the chronological record of one court case.
The distinction matters when the goal is a hearing, filing, or outcome. Use the court shown on the source document. Then ask that court’s clerk for the docket or case file. Federal matters use a separate route through PACER and the Eastern District of Texas, Beaumont Division.
The re:SearchTX public landing page shows the statewide portal used for supported records:
Its statewide scope is useful, but the responsible Jasper County clerk remains the source for coverage questions and certified records.
Federal Jasper County Case Search
Federal cases from Jasper County are not filed in the Texas trial-court systems. The Eastern District of Texas includes Jasper County in its Beaumont Division. PACER is the official federal case and docket search, while the Eastern District’s CM/ECF court-information page identifies the division and system details.
A federal docket can use a division-based number and may have limits on old docket sheets or document access. Search the federal system only when the caption names a United States court. State district, County Court, JP, and municipal matters remain with their Texas custodians. Appeals from the federal district court go to the Fifth Circuit, while Texas state appeals from Jasper County are served by the Ninth Court of Appeals in Beaumont.
Jasper County Restricted Case Access
Public access is not the same as access to every detail. Juvenile, sealed, expunged, and legally confidential material may be hidden or limited. Family cases can also contain protected documents even when a public docket entry exists. Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 76a addresses sealing in civil matters, while statutes and court orders govern other restrictions.
Texas court records also require a careful law distinction. The judiciary is treated separately under Government Code section 552.0035, and judicial records can fall under Rule 12 of the Texas Rules of Judicial Administration. Ask the record custodian which procedure applies. A search result is an index to activity, not a final judgment. Request the signed order or underlying filing when its exact contents matter.
For district records, contact Rosa Norsworthy’s office at 121 N. Austin Street, Room 202, Jasper, TX 75951, (409) 384-2721, or dclerk@co.jasper.tx.us. Mail, email, fax, phone, and the public counter provide fallbacks when online access is incomplete. The broader Jasper County court records process explains copy and certification choices.
